These data acquisition modules are compact, versatile sensor-to-computer interface units that independently provide intelligent signal conditioning, analog and digital I/O, data display and RS-485 communication. Microprocessor controlled sigma-delta A/D converters receive sensor signals such as voltage, current, thermocouples or RTD’s. Modules support the Modbus?/RTU protocol as the remote data transmission mechanism and use industry standard RS-485 communication protocol that allows you to transmit and receive data at high rates over long distances. Switching solid state relays allow the output channels to control heaters, pumps, and other power equipment, and units protect your equipment by providing 3000 V DC isolation. The included Windows? Utility software allows you to configure the node address, baud rate, communication protocol, input ranges, calibration settings and more.

Repeaters/Converters

Repeater model 18808-26 amplifies and boosts existing RS-422/485 signals extending the communication distance by 4000 ft and can increase the maximum number of connected nodes by 32. Model 18808-28 converts RS-232 signals into isolated RS-422 or 485 signals (no need to change your PC’s hardware or software). Model 18808-30 is a one port USB to RS-232/422/485 converter that allows you to connect a serial device to a system that uses a USB interface. 

Data Gateways

Model 18808-32 provides a gateway between RS-232/422/485 and Ethernet interfaces and is designed for remotely controlling and monitoring devices via the internet. Use model 18808-36 to connect existing devices or controllers running Modbus serial protocols (Modbus/ASCII or Modbus/RTU) to an Ethernet network.
